Insights:

  • When reading this book as a clinician, I had a profoundly different experience than reading it as a teen. We see Harry’s struggles with coping with trauma from the events that occurred at the end of Goblet of Fire, as well as a slander campaign placed against him to make him seem unstable or untrustworthy. Harry’s reactions, while at times brash, are understandable from the POV of someone who is dealing with a lot of hormonal changes as well as years of acute trauma at the hands of his family as well as his experiences fighting Voldemort.
